Winter skin care - My top tips for glowing Winter skin

Winter can cause havoc on your skin — making it dry, itchy, and irritated. And it can feel like there’s no escape: Cold, crisp conditions outside can leave your skin feeling raw, while indoor heat zaps moisture from the air and from your skin.

Things that make winter wonderful, cheeseboards by the log fire, mulled wine, overindulging with friends and family, plus a few too many festive drinks! Are the things that can trigger our skin concerns.

But there are many simple ways to combat the causes of dry winter skin and help keep your skin feeling moist and glowing all season long, including some easy changes to your everyday routine.

Here are some other tips when it comes to effective winter skincare, so that your skin can feels its best all season.

As our environment changes it’s hard not to react for the thermostat and crank up the heating but try and avoid going from one extreme to another. Slowly let your skin warm up, avoid overly hot baths and showers and try covering up with a scarf when going out in the cold.

To help fight off my dry skin from the inside I double up on my omega 3,6 & 9 supplements. They’re not only great for improving brain power (I need all the help I can get) but they’re also an anti-inflammatory, which is brilliant for you skin! Reducing redness, balancing oil production, and keeping skin hydrated. I can always tell when I’ve forgotten to take my omegas for a few days as my skin feels like a raisin after showering!

Rather than changing all of your skin care, which can often be costly, instead double up! Use your night cream under your day cream when your skin feels thirsty and in need of some extra love and care. Also using a face mask that doesn’t set as a night cream, Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recover Masque, is my personal fav! This mask is a cocktail of multivitamins which really helps plump and smooth your skin after a late night or hectic weekend and a perfect alternative to a night cream once a week or for 15 minutes as a skin boost before a night out. I quite often have it on for my early morning Yoga Bomb classes!

Don’t forget your body! Taking care of the rest of your skin is also important, I switch from Bothy Botanicals Hydrating lotion to Body Balm in winter. With the added hyaluronic acid, it packed 100x more moisture into my skin, making sure its soft, supple, and ready to get a spray tan at any opportunity!

Winter is also the perfect time to try a professional facial or upgrade to LED if you already do! We can talk you thought the products you have at home to make sure your confident with what you’re using on your skin and keeping it happy and healthy. Adding LED helps boo

st collogen and elastin to fight dull, tired skin.
